Interesting to note that iPad.com, a domain which does not appear to be owned by Apple despite the massive amounts of money they are pouring into marketing their new device so who are the owners of this domain and what are their intentions. I’m sure Apple has approached them but who knows the offer. For a while it was sitting with a blank white screen and a login box with very little information. Now they’ve recently updated the page with a Coming Soon image. Are they sitting on a goldmine? Will it not matter? Interesting to note the Alexa rating of this site which has no content is 35,451 (Not that Alexa is all that relevant or accurate) so someone other than me must be checking it out to see what’s going on there. I don’t believe they can use it in anyway with things associated with the iPad although I’m not 100% sure what the legal rules are there but they could have stumbled on a golden ticket. According to the WHOIS database, it was registered in 1997 and the current owner is Enero 6 Corp of Drums, PA but who are they and what will they do with this domain remains to be seen.
