Flippa is a web site that let’s you buy and sell web sites and domains in auction format. It is an up and coming site but a fantastic concept and appears to be growing in traffic. They claim to have sold over 35 million dollars worth of web sites and nearly 1 million in the last 7 days. The biggest sale I’ve seen on there was retweet.com which went for 250K but there are several 6 figure sales posted. I’m always interested in market pricing and its hard to value a web site these days but I’ve become addicted recently to checking Flippa to see what’s selling, what the prices are related to traffic. Very cool concept and they appear to be executing well. This is a site to keep an eye on for sure. What would be very interesting to know is what would Flippa sell for on Flippa. I’m thinking it would be the first 8 figure sale on its site but only the market knows for sure.
